Australian Team Selection Races Series for 2023

Ski Racing Australia (SRA) Ski Racing NSW (SRNSW) and Ski Racing Victoria (SRV) are excited to announce details for the 2023 Australian Selection Race Series.

SRNSW will host back to back races at Gosford over the weekend of the 12th & 13th August on the IWWF World Water Ski Racing Championships course.

SRV will host selection races 3 and 4 at Mulwala for the final chance for teams to earn points to represent Australia on the 26th & 27th August where another back to back race weekend will be held.

With the IWWF World Water Ski Racing Championships being held in Australia for the first time since 2011, this is a fantastic opportunity for Australian Teams to compete at the World Championships without having to go through the logistics and costs associated to compete overseas.

The IWWF Racing Council are also trialling for 2023 the opportunity for 6 Teams from each Country to compete in each class and this is leading to high expectations that a large number of teams will attend the Australian Selection Races Series.

IMPORTANT DATES

Nominations for the Australian Team will close on the 17th July 2023

Entries for Selection Races 1 & 2 – Gosford will close on the 17th July 2023

Entries for Selection Races 3 & 4 – Mulwala will close on the 31st July 2023

FEES

The Nomination Fee to compete in the Australian Selection Race Series and to be eligible for the “Australian Water Ski Racing Team” to represent at the World Championships is $660.00 per person (payable once if competing in multiple classes). This Nomination Fee is for all Australian Selection Race Series races whether you race one Selection Race or all four Selection Races.

Entry Fees for each Selection Race is $250.00 with the Entry Fee for Juniors being $200.00.

SRA Fees of $160.00 for the SRA Boat Levy ($25) and RaceLive ($135) is payable per weekend.

The nomination fee will be payable to the WWSRA organising committee to assist the hosting of the World Championships in Australia.

The entry fees (after weekend expenses for SRNSW & SRV) will be payable to the “Australian World Team Fund”  to assist all Australian competitors competing at the World Championships.

Watch out next week for an announcement on the new “Challenge Series” which will be held on the Australian Team Selection Race weekends and at the IWWF World Championships race week.

Classes for the “Challenge Series” are: – Juniors U14, F70, F80, 40-49, 50-59 & 60 plus will join the schedule.
